Spider Solitaire — 1 Suit

Objective

Win by moving all 104 cards to the eight foundation piles. To do so, complete descending same-suit sequences (King to Ace) in the tableau. Once a full sequence is built, it’s automatically moved to a foundation pile.

Rules

At the start, 54 cards are dealt across 10 tableau columns, which is where you’ll sequence cards. The rest of the cards are placed in a stockpile, which you’ll draw from when you get stuck. Follow these Spider Solitaire rules for gameplay.

• Sequence cards in descending order. For example, a 7♣ can go on an 8♣.
• Move single cards or descending same-suit sequences in the tableau. A sequence of 9♣, 8♣, 7♣ can be moved onto a 10♣.
• Completed same-suit sequences (King to Ace) move to a foundation pile. You must complete all eight piles to win.
• Use the stockpile when you get stuck. You can deal one new row of cards to each column by clicking the stockpile, but only if all columns have at least one card. There are 50 cards in the stockpile, so you can use it 5 times. You can also deal one card from the stockpile to the waste pile.
• Move any card or sequence of cards to an empty column.

Tips and Strategies

Using these Spider Solitaire strategies will give you a better chance of clearing all eight foundation piles.

• Use the stockpile carefully. Only deal new cards when you have no better moves. Dealing too early can bury useful sequences and block progress.
• Prioritize uncovering hidden cards. When choosing between two possible moves, pick the one that reveals a face-down card unless another leads to completing a full sequence.
• Build long sequences when possible. The more consecutive cards of the same suit you build, the easier it is to win.
• Clear a column to add flexibility. Having at least one empty column gives you the flexibility to move sequences and expose more hidden cards.
