Travel doesn’t always live up to the hype. Some attractions impress right away, while others leave visitors wondering what all the fuss was about. Even well-known destinations can fall short, whether it’s due to crowds, long waits, or simply not offering much to see or do.

To do this, we analyzed nearly 32 million Google reviews for 631 tourist attractions around the world, looking for mentions of boredom, lackluster experiences, and similar themes. We then calculated how frequently low-rated reviews (three stars or fewer) included these keywords, creating a “boredom” percentage for each attraction. Opened in May 2025 as the newest addition to Florida’s theme parks, the park aims to deliver an immersive experience, but records the highest rate of boredom complaints.
- Calder Gardens – Philadelphia, PA: Coming in second, 8.571% of reviews reference boredom. Opened in September 2025, this art space dedicated to Alexander Calder features lush gardens with more than 250 plant varieties alongside rotating installations of his work, though many visitors feel the experience falls short of expectations.

Each State’s Most Boring Attraction, According to Visitors

(0.617%).

Traveling south to Georgia, we found that the World of Coca-Cola has the most boredom complaints of all tourist attractions in the Peach State (2.193%). Perhaps this is a perfect day for a fan of the drink, but not as captivating for the average visitor.
Moving up north again, it was the Biltmore in Asheville that was named the most boring attraction in North Carolina. While the estate dating back to 1895 may offer a perfect backdrop to weddings, we found that 1.006% of visitor reviews considered the destination to leave them wanting more.
On the West Coast, we found the most boring tourist attraction in Washington is the Space Needle in Seattle. Despite the view from the top of the 605 foot tower, looking down through a glass floor, 0.853% of people mentioned boredom when leaving a review after their visit.

Methodology
In this study, we set out to learn which tourist attractions around the world are most boring. To do this, we first built a list of more than 600 attractions worldwide and collected Google reviews for each. Next, we analyzed reviews with 3 or fewer stars for mentions of 45 keywords related to boredom, disappointment, and more.
Then we divided the number of reviews with 3 or fewer stars with a mention of at least one keyword by the total number of reviews to create a percentage of boredom mentions. We then ranked attractions from the highest to lowest percentage overall, as well as among U.S. attractions and by category.
